BBC Good Food: Recipes

If you are looking to give your diet an overhaul, then the BBC Good Food app is a great place to source new meal inspiration.

With access to over 10,000 recipes, you’ll be sure to find some new ideas to suit your taste & budget. You’ll find loads of categories from low cost & low calorie meals, lunch ideas, vegetarian inspiration to quick and snappy recipes.

Simply save your favourite recipes and create your own personal cookbook to access when you require.

My Fitness Pal: Calorie Counter

This app is one of the most popular calorie counting and activity tracking apps for achieving weight loss goals. Simply fill out a personal profile and choose your weight loss target then start recording. It allows you to add the foods that you eat either manually, by searching for them in the food database, or using your camera to read the barcode on the food packaging.

The app also highlights the nutritional areas where you are lacking or overindulging such as your sugar and salt intake or how much protein you are consuming each day.

In addition to counting calories, the app also allows you to keep track of the energy you burn through exercise and takes this into account when suggesting the calories you should consume each day to achieve your weight loss goal.

Nike Training Club: Workouts & Fitness Plans

Whether you’re looking to work off those extra pounds you gained during the holidays or you’re interested in building a more active lifestyle, your smartphone makes an excellent workout companion.

With apps such as Nike Training Club with over 185 workouts to choose from, you can exercise anywhere, anytime. From your living room to a hotel room whilst on a business trip, there is no excuse not to stick to your exercise routine.
